It's almost a given that the story of blink-182 is already familiar to most fans of current rock
music. The scrappy pop-punk band forms in suburban San Diego in 1993, releases their debut album Cheshire Cat on a local label.
Four LPs, countless stages and several million albums later, the band ends up as one of the world's most wanted, most recognized
and most emulated pop-punk acts.
blink-182 have returned home from the Middle East where they played a pair of shows last week at a military base in Bahrain
and on an aircraft carrier in Kuwait. Tom Delonge's brother's fight in Iraq inspired him to push for the trip. "If any musician
out there has a good heart," he told a Navy news source, "they will come out here and do something."
